Highlight... LAKERS TOPPLE CELTICS FOR 2010 NBA TITLE; KOBE NAMED FINALS MVP

The 2010 NBA Finals lived up to all the hype and more, as both teams fought hard in this epic battle of rivals from two of the most storied franchises in NBA history.  The Los Angeles Lakers ultimately prevailed over the Boston Celtics, emerging with an 83-79 victory in the final game of the season’s best-of-seven championship series match-up…

Down as much as 13 points early into the third quarter, Lakers star Kobe Bryant and his trusted comrades found a way to fight back in a decidedly un-Lakerlike fashion. Bryant finished the night with 23 points, 6 of 24 in field goal attempts for a series low 25 percent, along with 15 rebounds and 2 assists. The Lakers’ 53-40 rebound advantage over the Celtics proved to be a pivotal stat in the outcome of the game. This is Los Angeles 16th NBA Championship and second consecutive title. Bryant was named MVP of the Finals, despite an unspectacular performance in Game 7. For the series, Bryant averaged a commendable 28.6 pts., 8 rebounds, and 3.9 assists. This is Bryant’s fifth NBA title and second consecutive Finals MVP honor.
