Headline... LSU, ALABAMA 1-2 IN BCS

LSU (12-0; 1.000 BCS average) is a unanimous No. 1 in both the coaches’ poll and the Harris poll, and is top-ranked in the computer ratings, after finishing the regular season with a flawless record. Alabama (.9551) is an overwhelming No. 2 in the polls and second in the computers, with its sole lose coming to the Tigers in Overtime earlier in the season. Oklahoma State (11-1; .8712 BCS average), Stanford (11-1; .8559 BCS average), and Virginia Tech (11-1; .7811 BCS average) round out the top 5 spots in the BCS.

Athlete... ALABAMA’S MARK INGRAM WINS HEISMAN

Overcome with emotion, Mark Ingram, running back for the Alabama Crimson Tide, approached the stage to receive college football’s greatest individual honor Saturday in what happened to be the closest Heisman Trophy race in the 75-year history of the award. Ingram edged Stanford running back Toby Gerhart by 28 points and five first-place votes. Ingram is Alabama’s first Heisman winner, the third consecutive sophomore to win the award, and one of two running backs in the decade to win the award, the first being Reggie Bush in 2005. CFB Review... COLLEGE FOOTBALL: BCS STANDINGS

The first BCS Standings 2009 have been released and it’s good news for Florida Gators fans. The same day that the Gators lost the top spot to Alabama in the AP Poll rankings, the team takes over number one in the first 2009 BCS Poll. Alabama, who sport a 7-0 record, take the number two spot with Texas, Boise State,and Cincinnati rounding out the Top 5.

CFB Review... COLLEGE FOOTBALL: WEEK 1 PREVIEW

It’s that time again! College Football fans around the country gear up for the start of what looks to be a very entertaining 2009 College Football season. Preseason rankings have the Florida Gators leading the pack with 58 first place votes, followed by the Texas Longhorns with 2 first place votes.
